THE CLIMATE AND ENERGY AWARENESS OF CITY AUTHORITIES IS GROWING.
The ILS system is already used by, among others, cities such as Warsaw, The Hague, Amsterdam and Stuttgart. In other cities, the STUDIO DL team conducts consultations and introductory workshops on energy savings and lighting modernization. By switching to newer technology, it is possible to save money and reduce energy consumption. However, thanks to the use of modern and intelligent tools such as the ILS product, a new level of supervision and control of the lighting infrastructure is achieved.
MODERNIZATION IS NOT JUST ABOUT SAVINGS
However, modernizing lighting and replacing it with LEDs is not only a matter of saving money. On a national scale, this shows an increase in ecological awareness and a decline in the country’s electricity consumption. European countries have long-term plans related to this issue. Such countries include, among others: The Netherlands, which has the 2030 and 2050 targets. The Netherlands knows that in order to meet national energy and climate agreements, work on LED lighting in the Netherlands must be accelerated.
THE EXPERIENCE OF DL STUDIO IS USEFUL
STUDIO DL was invited by the industry association OVLNL (Openbare Verlichting Nederland) to collaborate on a national online tool monitoring the progress of lighting modernization in all Dutch municipalities and cities. Our team’s experience in developing the functionality of the ILS application and knowledge of the modernization and digitization of lighting infrastructure were useful here.
COUNTRY PERSPECTIVE
Since progress in different parts of the country has different speed at different paces, this tool will allow you to gain a broader perspective and establish realistic plans for the modernization or even reduction of lighting fixtures for specific areas. It will also allow you to observe what percentage of potential energy savings will be achieved after replacement.
It is therefore a more limited surveillance tool than ILS, providing a national overview of progress.
